1. About Nurtiva and this website

Nurtiva is an emerging, community led initiative in Rwanda. The website shares information about our purpose, projects, learning, participation routes and ways people may support the work.

By using this website, you agree to use it lawfully, respectfully and in a way that does not interfere with the rights, safety or experience of other people.

2. Information on the website

We aim to keep website information accurate, current and clear. Some pages describe work that is being prepared, tested or developed. Proposed activities, targets, budgets or future plans should not be understood as completed results unless the page clearly says they have been delivered or verified.

Information may change as projects develop, partners are confirmed, funding changes or new learning becomes available.

3. No automatic offer, partnership or entitlement

Submitting a form, expressing interest, contacting Nurtiva, volunteering information or discussing a possible collaboration does not automatically create employment, a volunteer placement, funding, a partnership, a contract or any other formal relationship.

Where a formal relationship is proposed, roles, responsibilities, safeguarding, resources and other relevant terms should be agreed separately.

4. Acceptable use

  • Do not use the website to submit unlawful, threatening, abusive, discriminatory or deliberately misleading material.
  • Do not attempt to disrupt, damage, overload or gain unauthorised access to the website or its systems.
  • Do not submit another person’s private information without an appropriate reason and authority to do so.
  • Do not use website content in a way that falsely suggests Nurtiva endorses a person, organisation, product or political position.

5. Your submissions

You remain responsible for information, ideas, text, links and other material you submit through the website. You should only submit material that you have the right to share.

Submitting information through a participation or contact form gives Nurtiva permission to use that information as reasonably necessary to review the submission, respond to you and manage the relevant enquiry or participation process. We will seek additional permission before using a personal story, image or submission publicly where such permission is appropriate.

6. Intellectual property

Unless otherwise stated, the Nurtiva name, original website text, graphics, illustrations, project materials and other original content are owned by Nurtiva or used with permission. You may share public website links and make reasonable personal or educational use of public material, but you should not copy, sell, misrepresent or commercially exploit protected material without permission.

Third party names, logos, photographs and materials remain the property of their respective owners.

7. Images, stories and community representation

Nurtiva aims to use stories and images responsibly, accurately and with dignity. Our approach is described further in our Safeguarding and Responsible Storytelling page.

8. Donations

When online giving is activated, donations will also be governed by the information shown at the point of donation and our Donations and Refunds page. A donation does not guarantee that a particular project outcome will occur unless Nurtiva has expressly agreed otherwise in writing.

9. External websites and services

The website may link to third party websites, social networks, payment services or other platforms. Nurtiva does not control those services and is not responsible for their content, availability, security or privacy practices. Visitors should review the terms and privacy information of the relevant service.

10. Website availability

We aim to keep the website useful and available, but we do not promise uninterrupted access. Pages, functions or services may be changed, suspended or removed for maintenance, security, legal, operational or project related reasons.

11. Responsibility and limitation

The website is provided primarily for information, participation and communication. To the extent permitted by applicable law, Nurtiva is not responsible for losses caused solely by reliance on information that was clearly identified as provisional, for outages beyond our reasonable control, or for the acts of independent third party services linked from the website.

Nothing in these terms is intended to exclude responsibility that cannot lawfully be excluded.

12. Privacy

Personal information submitted through the website is handled according to our Privacy Policy and related privacy information.

13. Applicable law

These terms are intended to be interpreted under the laws of Rwanda, while respecting any mandatory rights that may apply to a visitor under another applicable law.

14. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the website, Nurtiva’s activities or applicable requirements change. The latest update date will appear at the top of this page.
